July is National Blueberry Month! Here are a few facts about the health benefits of the beautiful blue fruit!

Once your child has a few teeth and eats more table foods, blueberries are an ideal way to boost fiber in your child's diet. Whole blueberries pose a choking risk, so remember to cut blueberries in half or quarters before serving and offer one or two pieces at a time to prevent your baby from sticking too many pieces in his or her mouth.

  • Blueberries are a healthy snack. The fruit has fewer than 100 calories per cup. Blueberries also pack in a good amount of vitamins and minerals with each serving.

  • Blueberries make a great addition to meals. Add blueberries to your yogurt, smoothies, oatmeal, or salads.
